POLICY UPDATE:

Portland City Council Extends SDC Waiver Until 2018

Recently Portland City Council voted to extend the Service Development Charges (SDCs) waiver for Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) for another two years until July 31st, 2018.

This waiver, which saves those building ADUs $17,000 on average, has been in effect since 2010, spurring the ADU boom Portland has seen. Previously, it was set to expire July 31st, 2016.

This is fantastic news for those looking to add and ADU to their property. You can read more about the waiver extension from our friends over at accessorydwellings.org. Feel free to contact us if you’d like to take advantage of this rare opportunity.
